How to cook Banquet Chicken Pot Pie in an air fryer

This recipe is for the smaller single serve portion size, the 7 ounce package.

  1. Preheat air fryer to 380F
  2. Remove pie from cardboard box
  3. Wrap foil around the pies edges
  4. Cook for 23 minutes at 380F
  5. With ten minutes left, remove the foil to allow the edges to crisp

We used the COSORI to air fry this (affiliate link, we get a fee), always check your food with a good kitchen thermometer.

The foil is the key here. The air fryer quickly cooks the outside of the pie, but it takes a while for the interior to reach the magic 165F mark. The foil prevents the crust from burning. Remove the foil ten minutes before serving and the edges will crisp and brown up nicely.

Do be aware it can be tricky getting the final cooked pie out of the air fryer; I recommend investing in some heat resistant cooking gloves if you’re going to using your fryer a lot. Check out these gloves over on Amazon for less than twenty bucks. They may manipulating items in the fryer a little more simple and safe. 1. If memory serves I left it in, otherwise I imagine it would just collapse at some point 🙂 I think the interior tray is designed to cook at that temperature in the oven, so its fine here too (the air fryer is a small oven after all). That said I would not leave this unattended. Obviously all air fryers are different and cooking via an air fryer is not detailed on the product packaging. I would use extreme care, caution and attention for obvious reasons!

  1. This air fryer recipe works. I used the Power AirFryer XL 5.3 quart. I cooked the pie in its own cup/tray.

  2. I use the time stated on the box for microwave Ann have been doing it this way for years and have had no problems .
