How to reheat General Tso’s Chicken using an air fryer
There are a lot of caveats to this recipe so please read the full post and be sure to adjust to the exact make up of your general Tso’s. For the pictured chicken above I followed the following steps:
- Preheat air fryer to 380F
- Place chicken into air fryer on air fryer safe parchment paper
- Cook for eight minutes turning once after four minutes
This recipe is based of using the COSORI Air Fryer (affiliate link, we get a fee if you buy!).
Parchment paper is the key to this recipe. Without using the paper the chicken would weld itself against the fryer basket, and make an absolute mess. See our guide to parchment paper, how to use it and where to buy it here.
The second thing to keep in mind is the type/size/sytle of chicken you’re reheating. In the picture above you can see the dish from my local Chinese restaurant are big substantial tender sized pieces. The pieces also have a substantially thick batter too. If your chicken is in smaller pieces you can probably shave a minute or two off the cook time.
My recommendation is cooking a little lower than the max temperature of your fryer; we don’t want the sugars in the General Tso’s sauce to burn (that much) while we reheat.
