Take it from us, a reliable kitchen thermometer is an essential tool for any home cook – air frying fans especially so. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes and costs, which can be overwhelming and confusing.
Here are all the thermometers we currently recommend. These are ones we have in our own kitchen drawers and use!
Chefs Temp Final Touch X10
You can spend into three digits on some of the fanciest units out there – but you don’t need to. The X10 is our pick for the best high end kitchen thermometer. It’s a solid well built tool that feels good in the hand. Most importantly it’s fast and accurate reading to a 0.7F degree accuracy from -22F through to 572F – more than enough for air frying.
The business end of the thermometer rotates through a huge 270 degrees making it good for left and right handed cooks alike; the display also intelligently rotates as you do too. Its IP67 waterproof, motion activated, and sports a fancy backlit display making it easy to read in any light.

Habor Instant Read Thermometer
If you’re looking for a cheap and cheerful solution, the Habor is a good simple option. The Habor is a relatively lightweight unit and it does feel a bit flimsy, but it hasn’t let us down so far. The Habor isn’t quite as accurate as the X10, nor is it as fast, but it does get the job done.
It’s IPX6 waterproof which makes cleaning after use real easy and it sports a handy cheat sheet of meat cooking temps on the reverse. It’s also yours for under fifteen bucks, which is a great deal. You can purchase the Harbor on Amazon here. Again that’s an affiliate link where we get a small fee.
