How to make crispy pita chips in an air fryer

  1. Cut two pita breads into small triangles
  2. Place in sealable container, pour over two tablespoons olive oil, salt liberally and add any seasoning of preference
  3. Put lid on container, shake for 30 seconds until pita is coated
  4. Preheat air fryer
  5. When ready, set temperature to 400F and cook for four minutes, shaking half way through

Pita chips out of the air fryer are a real treat. Immensely better than anything from the store, not least they’re quick, healthy and you can season them as you see fit. I like to use a little ground coriander on mine when using with Middle Eastern dishes.

I like to use these pita chips sizzling hot from the fryer – dipped into home made hummus. The warm crisp chips in the cool rich sauce is a wonderful and healthy treat. For a little extra zip I drizzle on a little more olive oil and sumac to serve as well

  1. Having just bought my first air fryer – very pleased to find your site (even though it’s American and a degree of translation is required!). These look great – I plan to try then and then chuck ontop of salad. However you’ve switched half way thru the instructions to talking about chickpeas! What?! I can see chickpeas on top of the hummus – is there a step missing?

Also hi from another Brit, I just live in the states 🙂
