How to air fry hot dogs

  1. Preheat air fryer to 400F
  2. Score across top of hot dog four or five times
  3. Cook for four minutes
  4. Add hot dog to bun, cook for one more minute

This recipe is based of using the COSORI Air Fryer (5.8QT model, affiliate link).

Cook a hot dog in the air fryer and you’ll never microwave one again. In the above recipe I used regular Hebrew National sized dogs and basic grocery store buns. If you’re using particularly massive buns or dogs you might want to up the cook time one minute.

Cooking notes

Scoring the sausage really helps to add a nice texture and visual finish to the dog. Just sliced diagonally across the surface but dont go too deep. This also helps stop the dogs exploding under high heat too.

You’ll note I add the bun itself to the fryer for the last minute. I find with the dog inside the bun it adds just a little grease/fat to crisp up nicely.
