How to air fry Whole Catch Maryland Style Crab Cakes
- Preheat air fryer to 400F
- Add frozen crab cakes to air fryer
- Cook for 23 minutes at 400F
- Turn cakes two or three times – very carefully – during cooking

These ball shaped crab cakes are quite thick in their frozen format. That means it takes some time to cook the cakes all the way through to the center – and upto the safe temperature of 165F and above.
All this means the crab cakes do develop some char and crisp on the outside. I find this quite enjoyable – certainly not burnt – but you may have your own preferences. The interior is of course quite soft and juicy, despite the long cooking time.
Here are the crab cakes served with a Middle Eastern inspired selection of items, Aleppo-pepper spiced chickpeas, cucumber-tomato-parsely salad with garlic, air fried pita chips, hummus and lemon aioli.
