Don’t believe the naysayers – cooking a Beyond Burger in an air fryer *IS* possible. What’s more…it’s mighty tasty too. Here’s how to make the burger in the fryer:
- Preheat air fryer
- When ready, set temperature to 400F
- Spray both sides of patty with cooking oil
- Cook for six minutes total
- Flip with spatula 4 times during cooking
This recipe is based of using the COSORI Air Fryer (5.8QT model, affiliate link).
First up, this recipe cooks the burger to a roughly medium-rare finish. The exterior is crisp, the interior hot, but the texture a little soft. You might want to cook a few minutes more depending on you preference and internal temp of the burger.
It’s important to ensure the burger doesn’t stick to your fryer – that’s why I start by aggressively spraying both sides of the burger with fat free Pam cooking spray.
From there I like to flip the burger four times during cooking, to ensure even cooking. Unlike other recipes I don’t recommend shaking the basket; instead use a spatula to carefully, quickly and safely flip the patty. Shaking the basket risks the burger crumbling.
