This English style beer battered fish cooks great in the air fryer – but be warned – the fat in that batter does start to smoke. For my initial piece of cod I made the mistake of adding a little water to the bottom of my air fryer (as I do with bacon when it smokes) to prevent the smoke/fat burn. This actually ended up steaming a little portion in the fish rendering some of the batter a little limp.
