How to cook Lightlife Smart Dogs in the air fryer
- Preheat air fryer to 400F
- Spray dogs with fat free cooking oil
- Cook for five minutes at 400F
- Flip the Smart Dogs during cooking
We used the COSORI to air fry this (affiliate link, we get a fee), always check your food with a good kitchen thermometer.
The fat content in these meat free hot dogs is relatively low by hot dog standards. As such, they tend not to crisp too much in the air fryer. A little cooking spray can help ever so slightly, but if you choose the air fryer for these, you’re more heating than frying.
That said, I prefer them air fried then microwaved for sure – where they can split, crack and dry out.
